New Year, New Music

In order to start the year off right, we need to have the music right. This Summer, artists came out with some amazing new music.

Throughout the three, long months we heard hits from Taylor Swift such as Look what you made me do, Justin Bieber’s Friends, and Khalid’s Perfect. While those are great, a few more artists released music. Jessie J released Think About That following the announcement of her new album R.O.S.E. The album comes out in October. In addition to Jessie J, Nick Jonas came out with a brand new track called Find You and Lorde put out a remix of her track, Homemade Dynamite, featuring Khalid, Post Malone, and SZA.

Here at Century, we all have different taste in music and like different genres.

Fellow Century senior Chaz Atkins stated, “I enjoy listening to indie pop music. My favorite bands are VXX and Sports, they both are coming out with new material soon that I can't wait to hear.”

Century Senior Rylee Ferguson stated that she “likes all music but country.” She expressed that she “just couldn't quite get into it.” Her favorite bands include Linkin Park and Green Day. “The bands may be oldies but they sure are goodies.”

Lauren Nguyen, a Century sophomore said that, “some of my favorite artists are Kesha, Sam Smith, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, and Macklemore. I am excited to hear the new collaboration between Kesha and Macklemore.”

All of the artists above and their music ge

nres are amazing. In addition to listening to new tracks from these musicians, many Century students are going to spend their money to see them perform live in concert as Macklemore's North American tour, The Weeknd’s tour, and Gucci Mane’s tour will all go through Portland this year! So get ready Century!
