On May 27th, Century High seniors will be having the time of their lives as they experience prom at the Leftbank Annex. Prom is one of the biggest highlights of a senior’s high school career, and they want to make it as memorable as possible. There’s one senior, Hailey Patraw, who is hoping to help senior girls realize this dream by making prom dresses.

Prom dresses can be extremely difficult to find and they also don’t come cheap. The benefit to Patraw’s senior project of making custom designed dresses, is that the cost is significantly lower than the majority of prom dresses. Not only that, customers can decide what patterns they want to have on the dress.

The dresses can take up to a month to make depending on the criteria requested. Along with a flat fee of $10 (for the time and effort she puts in), Patraw determines the price based on the amount of materials utilized.

“I wanted to do something unique, and have the experience of designing clothes for people,” Patraw stated.

Up to this point, Patraw has created four dresses. Patraw says she wants to be a fashion designer in the near future and her senior project is going to help her along the way.
